Ecommerce Blog System
The blog itself is a collection of features including blog lists, blog rolls, blog posts, profiles, comments, blog widgets, SEO settings, and the blog theme files. Together, the ecommerce blog system is able to achieve a wide range of customization and capabilities. Visit the Spark Pay Ecommerce Marketing Blog to see how we are using the blog CMS.
Multiple Blogs and Blog List Page
Not just one online store blog, unlimited blogs! This is an important distinction in the blog system because many blogs only allow you to have one blog on your domain. So, if you need multiple blogs on your store (or stores) then each blog (and blog roll) can be branded and designed specifically for that blog. This allows you to segment your message, create stronger content for respective audiences and improve your readership. Use the blog list page to aggregate all your blogs into one single blog roll page.
This is what you are most familiar with seeing when you visit a blog. The blog roll page is the single page that has the blogs listed in order down the page with links for oldest and newest posts. You can design the blog roll page to show any number of posts on the page, full or partial content of a blog post and other blog post information such as a teaser image, teaser description, author avatar and number of comments. Also, your blog roll design can feature a sidebar, widgets like newsletter signup, categories, tag cloud, and more.
With a wysiwyg editor, featured image, and all the SEO fields you expect, you can make your online store blog posts complete with content, images, links. Your blog post can include your author avatar and allow for comments on blog posts by your readers and customers.
In the Ecommerce Theme System, using custom HTML and CSS, you can make all blogs look and feel unique with custom designs, calls to action, sidebars, headers and footers. Or you can use the default layouts provided in any of the Spark Pay Ecommerce Templates.
For design, layout and functionality, you'll use widgets to handle options for:
- Blog Drill-down
- Blog Archive
- Blog/ RSS Feeder
- Blog Tag Cloud
- Blog Roll
You might use this tool for advanced content management capabilities by using this for other blog like sections of your site like press releases or articles or testimonials. In these cases, you could use the tool but disable comments and other unnecessary features.
